Peter Zollinger
Founding Member and Board Member
Based in Zurich, Peter is an acknowledged international expert and boardroom campaigner on matters of business integrity and sustainability. For the past 20 years he has advised and been a valued partner of many of the world’s best-known companies, as well as public and non-profit organizations. Today, he is member of the founding team of Globalance Bank, an independent Swiss bank, who is making sustainability an integral principle of its investment strategies across all asset classes.
From 1999-2010 Peter played a key role in establishing SustainAbility Ltd., London, as a leading international consulting firm and think tank, including as its first CEO from 2001-2006, most recently as a Non-Executive Director and currently as Council Member. His focus has always been on strategy and implementation, including emphasis on corporate governance, accountability and stakeholder engagement.
Previously, he worked in the Family Office of industrialist and entrepreneur Stephan Schmidheiny, founder of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), where he focused on venture capital projects and the establishment of AVINA, which invests in sustainability leadership in Latin America. He was also active for the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Washington D. C. and as Director of Strategic Development at FUNDES International, a network that fosters small and medium-sized companies in Latin America.
Peter Zollinger holds a masters degree in finance and economics (lic.oec.HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, and he is a member of the boards of trustees of various foundations.
