Knut Bergmann

Founding Member and Board Member

Dr. Knut Bergmann is the head of communication and the Berlin branch office of the Cologne Institute for Economic Research. He studied political science with minors in psychology as well as public law and holds a doctoral degree from Bonn University. Prior to joining the institute, he worked for the TV talkshow moderator Sabine Christiansen, the policy planning department of the Office of the Federal President, and as a speechwriter for the President of the German Bundestag. From 2009 until 2011 he was a fellow of the foundation “stiftung neue verantwortung” where he led two projects on “a new culture of wealth” and “the future of political parties”. He is a member of the board of the Guardini foundation in Berlin and the Council on Economic Policies in Zurich. Since 2003 he has also been teaching at various universities such as the University of Applied Sciences at Berlin (HTW), the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin) and the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. He regularly publishes on a wide range of social and public policy topics.
